Feel-good volunteer group
This drop-in group runs every Wednesday, 10am-2pm and is for anyone local wanting to get stuck into gardening. This group is an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills and get active. As a result of this group, we’ve witnessed friendships blossom and careers take off.
Tasks are varied and guided by the seasons. They may include things like seed sowing, mulching beds, planting out, harvesting and laying paths. For those wanting to learn about gardening, there is lots of opportunity to ask questions.
Each week, we cook lunch to be shared by all our volunteers. The lunch is always veggie (often Vegan) and is made using produce from the garden.
If you would like to join the volunteer group please contact Joe at hello@bowdenspringsfarm.co.uk

“I have loved meeting and getting to know other people in a super friendly and supportive environment. Joe and May are both gifted in making people feel relaxed and valued. Chatting over a cup of tea and/or sharing a simple but nutritious lunch together is a lovely and important part of the group.”
“I really enjoyed the volunteer days at Bowden, for many reasons! I felt very welcome from the start, regardless of experience! The space itself is so beautiful and magical and spending time there with hands in the soil is nourishment for the soul. From sowing seeds, hoeing paths and staking flowers, I learnt so much and am so appreciative of Joe, Liv and May’s kind and open approach to everyone in the group. The sessions were informative, fun, collaborative and responsive and adaptable to the energy in the group. The lunches were delicious, and a testament to the ethos of the place, sharing homegrown healthy food together with great chat and atmosphere! I really appreciated the care that was taken to listen to peoples’ intentions for being there, and to shape the sessions to help support everyone’s aspirations.”
